Two big important home games this weekend. Need to win both to stay ahead of the pack and hopefully IPFW can slip up against WIU or the Jags. Would be nice to get another home winning streak started as well as keep the current home winning streak against league foes going since Feb of 2008. Coach set it best, need to jump on the Jags early and get the bigs involved in the game since the Jags have very little to no size in the paint.

Very excited for the game tonight! We need it to stop snowing, as the "community" (non-students, alums, etc.) will be the most important factor in packing the house tonight. I know there are a fair amount of people in class tonight. I will be there and look forward to watching our G'Grizzlies tonight!

Hopefully we have a great turnout tonight. I do agree that the snow will play a factor in attendance figures tonight. A loud student section right behind Ron Hunter could get him all riled up. I think it will be interesting to see who guards Alex Young tonight and how effective they can be in containing him(if that's possible). The point guard spot will be a point of emphasis if Larry doesn't go tonight. Kampe said in Coach's Corner that Larry didn't practice yesterday and would likely not be ready to go tonight. We need to expose their bigs with full usage of Kito and Will. That means getting them the ball down low, while being effective and efficient.

Also hoping for a big loud crowd tonight, especially if Donnavan Kirk is there. It hurts to probably not have Larry Wright tonight (we need as much athleticism as possible on the perimeter against the Jags), but if we can play our game and dominate in the paint we should be fine.

Great game, great crowd. Hope Ledrick is ok. Does anyone know when the replay will air on FSN?

Don't know about the FSD replay (I DVR'd it and am about to watch it). The fact that we won pretty handily with both Benson and Hudson only scoring in single figures is a good sign. Reggie and Bader were on fire from deep.
Good to see Eackles come back and try to make a go of it. Great heart. If we sit him versus WIU on Saturday, he can get extra rest since we don't play again until the following Saturday.
Also good to have the Grizz Gang back!

Nice Nice W!! Bader and Hamilton shot lights out!!!
So, where I sat with my boy, there were 5 NBA scouts. One sat directly in front of me, the other right next to me, I was able to read there blackberry while they were typing mostly about Benson, but also Alex Young.
The one scout next to me didn't like Young that much. He said he couldn't make it to the league, that scoring will be much harder for him in the NBA. However, what really stood out for him, is his defense, or lack there of. He kept writing how bad his defense is, and that Rod Hunter won't pull him, and hold him accountable, because he needs Young out on the court. He did state that he thinks he would be a pretty good Euro player.
Now for Benson. The scout in front of me completely broke down is body. Saying his hips were too narrow, but has strong calf's and nice biceps. Both stated how soft Benson is. The scout wrote up that he liked to use his butt to gain position, however he doesn't do a good job of realizing where he is once he gets the ball down low, and thus he has to turn dribble and make a shot. However, he did state that Benson is a good shot blocker and has good potential.
The scout next to me saw Benson live for the 2nd time, both were against IUPUI. This game and the other Benson didn't play well. He also stated how soft Benson was, and stated he lacked heart. He didn't like how Benson didn't go down for a ball late in the game when it was right under his feet. He also wrote that Benson shy's away from contact, and that he has yet to see him try to dunk on anyone. I think he was looking for some aggressiveness from him. However, he too liked his shot blocking ability, and he liked how he can face up his man and shoot if needed. He also likes his shooting range.
I did ask one of the scouts if he thought Benson was a first round pick, his response: "Boarder line". I agree with that.
Overall, these scouts broke EVERYTHING down. They watched how he acted around his teammates, coaches, and what he was doing during the sidelines. Overall it was kinda cool watching how these scouts do their work.

+1 for the report, Leobrn. The IUPUI games always seem to make Benson look worse than usual.

Props to Leo for providing some info on what the scouts thought of Kito. Great game especially by the guards and I am glad to see that Ledrick is ok. Had me scared watching him go down like that. Last thing we need is another player injured .
