Time to kick off the second half of the league season. It's nearly Feb and thats when this team has really begun to flex its muscle the last couple of years. Can't take any team in the SL lightly (especially ORU) after hearing that Belmont was knocked from the ranks of conference unbeatens.

This is a really BIG game, no matter what way you look at it. If we win, and Oral Roberts beats IPFW on Saturday, then IUPUI would be the only team within 3 games (assuming they beat Western Illinois). That would be huge and almost guaranteeing the Summit League regular season conference championship. I have been thinking about this all week and I'm curious to see how the guys come out after capturing the record. Will they be satisfied with just getting the record? Desire to extend it? I hope they continue to extend the record and we can resume it next season. :-). Hopefully, Ledrick is back in action. We need Bass to continue to contribute. I can't wait for tomorrow to see the Grizzlies back in action in the O'rena. The games seem so few and far in between nowadays.

I can't wait for tomorrow to see the Grizzlies back in action in the O'rena. The games seem so few and far in between nowadays. Couldn't agree more. Non-conference is such a tease with games on other days than just Thursday and Saturday. ORU is getting healthy and starting to roll, but I just don't see the Golden Grizzlies having a letdown at all. I think it will be close like the last game between these two, but these they're going to be back at home with a great crowd against the hated team from Tulsa!! That said, I'm most excited to see what the crowd looks like, even if "seeing" is through a tiny pixelated version on my computer screen. Last year's ORU crowd was epic especially the students so I am curious to see if that can be replicated on a Thursday non-homecoming night. I hope we can generate a 3,000-plus crowd so that the Grizz guys can feed off the energy. Remember last year's home game against ORU? That was memorable. JJ hit a running jumper with one second to play to gave OU a 79-77 victory: espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=300382473It was a Saturday night game that drew 4,034. Woo hoo. Warren Niles sank 13 of 16 shots to score 30 for ORU.

I am very excited about this game and am hoping for a big game from our seniors. Unfortunately what I am hearing from the ticket office is this game is still wide open as far as tickets are concerned which really disappoints me.
I have also heard Saturday's game is almost a sell-out now which is exciting but unfortunately I wish the crowds were switched for these two games.
I believe a couple of factors go into why the crowd will be small. The first is obviously because it is a Thursday night game. The second is that the more I think about it there really only is a select amount of fans that even realize that this is a rivalry game. In the last couple of years the O'rena has been drawing larger crowds of new fans that are just finding out about OU. They probably have little to no clue about the history between the two programs and therefore don't see an ORU game any differently then playing s. utah.
I do realize the rivalry and no matter what the crowd looks like tonight I hope the players realize how big this game is. I will never forget my days back as a student when in 2005 I was spit on and called every name in the book at The Union in Tulsa, Oklahoma when OU shocked the Mid-Con and beat those ORU Eagles. I have never had the experience of fans throwing stuff at me and from that point on a hatred began to stir within me. Now if I see anything ORU related anger immediately sparks within me.
I truly hope that our student section tonight can feed off my anger and keep the rivalry going strong. When it comes to playing ORU I want our students to hold nothing back.
Let's go Grizzlies!

Just picked up two extra tickets in W-4 from the box office and the OU rep says sales are brisk for tonight's game. She expects a good crowd.

Does anyone know where/how to watch the game, online, TV? I'm in Ann Arbor, but I know alumni around the US trying to watch too.
