Kito departed today for Atlanta. He will work out for 3 days with the Atlanta Hawks with James Anderson and Damion James. They can only work them out for 3 days. He will return to Michigan on Thursday.
Next week, he will return for 3 days for additional workouts. He will participate in the Atlanta Hawks' training camp beginning on October 3rd. The first exhibition game will be on October 7th against the Miami Heat. You will probably be able to see it on NBA-TV.

Kito is in Atlanta from Sunday to Thursday this week. He is working out with Johan Petros, James Anderson and Devin Harris. He is doing individual workouts and playing pick-up with NBA players in Atlanta for the summer.
The Atlanta Hawks have released their preseason exhibition game schedule. Good news! The Hawks will play the Pistons on Friday, October 26th. Hopefully, Oakland Nation will show up and cheer for Kito.

Thanks for the update, rimwrecker. Can't wait to see Kito not only make the team but get real minutes this year. He has a great chance.

It is interesting to consider the accomplishment of being invited to training camp. From the summer league roster of 15, only 3 are invited to training camp.
On Wednesday, September 12th, in the Detroit Free Press, Brian Manzullo discussed the chances of a college player making a professional team. He said that according to a study by the NCAA, 11.65 of collegiate athletes make the leap to professional baseball, whereas 1.2% reach the NBA, 1.3% the NHL and 1.7% the NFL. Also, 0.9% make it to the WNBA and 1.0% make Major League Soccer.
He says that the much higher percentage of baseball players can be attributed to the expansive minor-league system which houses 240 teams.
So, the harder the task, the stronger our encouragement. Kito already played in the NBA, so he is in the 1.2%, already. That is something to be proud of.

Update. Kito will depart for Atlanta on Sunday, September 23rd instead of tomorrow. Apparently that will be when the Hawks' trainers return. This week there are no coaches available to work him out.
No problem. He is working out here with Dominique, a trainer from New York who got him in tip top shape for the summer league. The proof is in the pudding!

I saw a couple of days ago that the Hawks re-signed Ivan Johnson, after having also given this year's second rounder Mike Scott a 2-year deal. There aren't a lot of roster spots left, so I hope Benson builds on his summer performance and is so dominant in camp that there's no way they can cut him.

Germane: Did you see that the Hawks bought out Jordan Williams' $762,000 contract, on Monday, September 17th or am I hallucinating? He plays the center position. Is that something we would want to know?
