Let's hope we see that day soon ... I feel like we are riding a wave that will crest in the next three seasons.

Grizz Gang! I know we said this on twitter last night but you guys did show up and that didn't go unnoticed. We need all of you as we push through this Horizon League schedule. Thank you again for all of your support! Let's make the O'Rena a place that is the most difficult and loudest arena to play in for our opponents!

Hoping we can do something to get the non students into the game. Building a basketball culture takes time, but I think there's things the student section can do to push the agenda.
1. Before the game start a Go Black, Go Gold cheer. Start in the student section while imploring the rest of the crowd to join in.
2. If we get the momentum going in our favor everyone in the O'Rena needs to stand up. Getting people to stand is apparently harder said than done, so we need to give hints. MSU does a stand up clap clap stand up clap clap and the fans respond. IF they're told what to do the fans will stand.
3. If we go on a run and the opposing team calls a timeout they should be blasting a hype song through the speakers. We obviously can't create anything resembling Kansas ( ), but it doesn't hurt to try.
The O'Rena is so ridiculously loud when everyone is into the game. The problem is it only happens the last 2 mins of the game.
Other things.
1. The TV cameras don't pick up the main section of the Grizz Gang on TV. The "leaders" should move about 10 feet toward the opposing teams bench, so they're seen on every possession.
2. Don't let people sit. Have the main Grizz Gang people all sit in the front row and just naturally force everyone behind them to stand.
Looking forward to the game tonight.

I don't know about you all, but I'm hype for this game right now. I totally agree that we have to help create the atmosphere for our team. That is our obligation in the college sports fan experience. We can win this game. Our guys need to play their hearts out and they need for us to give them that extra boost. It should be like hell in there for Valpo tonight and anyone else that comes in the O'rena. This is our house! Nobody should be able to try to come in and take what's ours. I bleed gold! Heck, I piss it too! We all do. So let's make some noise and show who we really are. This is Oakland!Get the W, no exceptions.
Go Black! Go Gold! Go Grizzlies!

Suggestion for next year: Student T-Shirts need to be sold at all home games and in the book store all year around. I was never able to get my hands on one this year because I guess they were all given away and a frozen yogurt event in September (sounds weird just saying that). We need a single shirt that everyone can wear to every home game. I suggest something with the base color white. On most nights, the Orena is filled with black. A white shirt would pop, would look cool on T.V. so when the camera pans around people watching on T.V. would easily recognize that this small school has this decently sized student section. We need a single t-shirt that brings us together as 1. For some more emphasis on the base color white, how cool did this look?

I'd say either white or "gold" myself. The Gold-Out in the Detroit game looked amazing on TV, and it provides the same pop against the black court, and I'd love to see it every game. Otherwise, right on.

I don't have a strong opinion either way, but I do hope we pick one color and stick to it. I think Brandon is right on about having a student section T-shirt that is given away at the first game and available for purchase at every proceeding game. The whole star wars, tropical theme night roulette doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
White out looked the best on TV, but it's a tough sell when our colors are Black and Gold. The gold out looked incredible, but I don't know many people who own high quality Oakland gear that is gold.
Black is probably safest, but lacks the contrast against the blacktop. I'd probably lean towards gold and start offering a better selection of Oakland gear that falls into that colorway.
