Lol I think you might have the wrong Dan. While I was in the Grizz Gang at the time this chant popped up, I've been complaining about it since being in the Grizz Gang myself. There were multiple Dan's in the Grizz Gang at the time of its arrival.
While I've never been a fan of the chant, I do find it somewhat amazing that it has managed to stick for 5+ years since it first came on the scene. None of the students current in the GG likely know its origin.

I always assumed this was Dan Elliot who I believe originated the chant.

What sorts of fun are you or other students looking for? I'm sure suggestions are welcome and encouraged. Myself, I have tons of fun at basketball games and that's why I go to every basketball game I can. As for my statement on fun, it just seems like a logical thing that if students don't have fun, they're less likely to show up to the next game. It would also lead to students saying the the GG is "lame" telling their friends not to waste their time going, instead of the desired "Hey, are you going to the next game on _______? No? you should! I'll meet you in the GG." I attributed the lack of GG support the past few years to this, because the product on the court was exceptionally good. So really, I am not a person that would be able to answer that question because I do enjoy the game and see it as part of the college experience. Although I do think they should put out a survey at the end of the year to see the response of the students. As for last nights GG performance, that was good stuff! Organic chants coming from from a variety of sources (Student Athletes (Swimmers), cheerleaders, students, GG leader, band) throughout the crowd. It was good stuff. Although, being a soccer person, I believe there should be almost constant noise (at least when we are defense) I did think the GG was lacking support in times that the boys needed something to rally around, but that's just personal preference. For the first game I was glad to see the excitement for the upcoming season within the student population. It is definitely leaps ahead of where the GG usually starts!

So still no idea on how students are able to get their free tickets... I'm going to assume we have to pick them up at the CSA ticket office but I haven't heard a thing about it.

A big push will be made via social media. From my understanding students will get a voucher and then get their tickets when they board the bus. Which would be a bummer because my son, a student wants to go with other non OU students but would like to get just the ticket. He wouldn't need to take the bus.

I really hope this isn't the case ... who wants to be the one waiting in a crowd outside on game day and be told there's not enough room left on the bus/no more tickets. Plus, I was kind of hoping to drive myself on Saturday too. That would be a bummer.

I've been keeping my eyes open on social media for an announcement. I wouldn't mind that method of distribution, but i would just prefer having my tickets in hand so i can drive with other people. I was planning on getting dinner before or after the game saturday but i'm not sure how possible that would be.
