The OU men faced Kentucky in the first round of the NCAA tourney last night and won 2-0. Even better: the next round is a rematch with MSU in East Lansing on Sunday (we beat MSU 2-0 earlier this year).

Not too optimistic about Sunday though. Something about having to play a team twice in a season especially on their field.

I'm really pissed about the seeding because I think they could keep advancing the way they are playing, but it's going to be a redemption match at MSU and itd be really hard to beat a top 25 team once. Here's to one of our most successful sports in ncaa tournament action!

I don't mean to diminish the 2015 season. NCAA tournaments are hard to make and to win is significant. I am really disappointed that our defensive-minded team gave up a 2 goal lead. I was very concerned about momentum when we gave up a goal right before half. I really like what Coach Pogue says about wanting to be where we were at during the D2 days. I like what he says most of the time. Now we have the facilities, the commitment from the athletic department, a better conference etc. I think everything is in place to win the way we did under Parsons. We played a similar difficult schedule and rarely went into conference play as a sub .500 team. Let's hope these past two dramatically up and down (and up) NCAA Tournament seasons have laid the foundation for great recruits to make great plays and more experienced coaching.
I do want to add that I really like how quickly Coach Saurin has appeared to get the women's program back on track. Surpassed my expectations this year.
