Valspar Championship starts on Thursday, 3.12.2015 - Brian tees off in the first trio at 745am:

Time for Brian to rack up some much needed FedEx Cup points --- the fields in the tournaments the rest of the year will be very tough.

Rough week for Brian...several missed putts from within 3-5 feet did Brian in, and he missed the cut. He now sits at 103 on the FedEx Cup point list.
Next up, Brian will be playing in the Arnold Palmer Invitational this weekend.

Brian finally broke that string of consecutive missed cuts at the Valero Texas Open. He finished in a T64. Not a great showing, but at least he got on the other side of the cut line.
FedEx Cup ranking 118 (221 points) Money Ranking 99 ($413K)
He'll have at least the next 2 weekends off, as he is not in the field for this weeks tournament, nor has he qualified to play at The Masters.
We will most certainly see Brian at the RBC Heritage the week after the Masters. Brian finished in a T5 last year, and generally plays well there.
Best thing about the RBC Heritage is the awesome Plaid Jacket you win for winning the Tournament.

How about a Brian Stuard Update...
Brian was on the outside looking in on Friday, but showed he still has it, going -3 par for his second round and made the cut at the RBC. Brian made just his 8th cut of the year in 16 starts.
He starts Saturday in a T48, but has shown in the past that Saturdays are usually his best days, and I project Brian will go low today, just a gut feeling. I wouldn't be surprised if Brian shoots better than -5 and breaks into the Top 20 heading into Sunday. Brian needs all the FEDEX Cup points he can get -- currently at 124 on the list.

Brian had a pretty good week last week at the Wells Fargo - finishing T38.
In 19 tournaments this year, he has made 10 cuts, but only has 1 Top 10. At the same time last year - he had 3 Top 5 finishes. Hopefully he is working out the kinks as he gets ready to tee it up at the Crowne Plaza, where he missed the cut last year by 1 stroke. Brian Tees off at 12:12 CT on Thursday.
As for FedEx Cup points --- Brian is right on the cut line, at 125th place. Another Top 10 finish or 2 should help him keep his card for next year. He has made $469K so far this year. He is easily the most successful athlete in OU history in terms of career earnings, wouldn't you agree?
It's been 10 years since Brian graduated - is this the year he gets in the Lepley Hall of Honor?

Love the updates BTW!!

While Brian has made 5 of his last 7 cuts, his best finish was only a T38 at the Wells Fargo 3 weeks ago.
He now ranks 129 in FedEx Cup points, made 11 of 21 cuts, and has earned $483K this year. Brian is on the outside looking in when it comes to keeping his full time status on the PGA Tour next year.
This week, Brian tees off at the Memorial - just outside Columbus, OH. He tees off at 720am Thursday Morning, in case you want to make the trip down!

Educate me: what does it mean if he doesn't keep his card?

Educate me: what does it mean if he doesn't keep his card? He will have to go to "Q-School" and get a card. Q-school is qualifying school, pretty much they have to play tournament, and a small % gets a card for the following season that scores low enough. Having a card pretty much means you're a full time member of the PGA for that season. If you dont have a card, you have to be invited to tourney's, etc. You just cant participate in a PGA tour event, you have to be invited. Thats not the case if you have a card. I hope that makes sense.
