You've got the Mercy score wrong. Mercy lost 61-74 after being up 7 at the half. Jarod Williams also was tossed for intentionally stepping on a dudes head. You know, head stomping, like it talks about in the bible. But OU is the thugs right? Valpo' win should come with an asterisk. Peters hits 3 free throws with 5 seconds left. Realllll questionable call to put him on the line there. My bad. Thanks for the head's up. Gave them credit they don't deserve. Since we are discussing asterisks and credit...maybe you can also add that Valpo played the whole game without a starter and their sixth man (Jubril Adekoya and Max Joseph) who were both suspended. Also another starter and second leading scorer (Shane Hammink) fouled out with more than 6 minutes to play, and that Valpo still picked up a road win at a MVC school with an RPI 50 places higher than Oakland's best win so far this season (RMU).

:eggroll: IMO, any credit you received for playing without a starter and 6th man is immediately taken away once I find out it was because they were suspended. The only way you get your credit back from me is if they were suspended because they missed practice volunteering at P.A.T.H..

Guess I need to be careful who's usernames I accept on this forum. Why am I not surprised to see a VU fan chime in on a post that dare questions one of their games. Talk about insecure.

If your goal is to judge how well a team is performing I think taking into account temporarily missing players is a good idea. I'm not sure how your judgment is improved by pretending that Valpo played at full strength when they did not.

Guess next time a Valpo player gets suspended I'll let someone else bring you the good news. In all seriousness, I've enjoyed this, and isn't a little bump in activity what all lightly-used message boards are looking for anyway? However, if I'm not wanted I'll happily slink back into the Interwebs from whence I came. Thanks for the memories Grizzlies!

No no. You can't talk of a suspension and not at least bring some details. We're the thugs who should always be suspended, remember?
So what'd they do? And you didn't mention my call for the asterisk. You wanna tell me Peters was fouled on that play?

And you didn't mention my call for the asterisk. You wanna tell me Peters was fouled on that play? I can't offer much help with the Valpo suspensions, other than to say there is some speculation from fans in the Missouri State game thread over on the Valpo board. I stuck to the suspensions in my original post because I thought that was information people would want to consider when judging how well the team performed. Coming over here to argue about the interpretation of a single foul seemed, as one poster has already suggested, a tad insecure. However, since you have insisted... Peters was fouled. A hit on the arm of a jump shooter is one of the easiest foul calls to make. Much easier than the sort of body control/legal guarding position/block-charge calls that make up most fouls during a game. The video clearly shows Peters getting hit as he attempts to go up. Even if you want to argue that the video doesn't 100% show a hit on the arm, there is nothing to point to in the video that contradicts the call on the court. You can see for yourself here.
