The cost thing ik could be an issue. Idk what the cost running would be but yea maybe kinda big would give us lots of room to grow. But was thinking up frount would be way cheaper than a whole new building plus the O could be the practice facility we need. But yea probably true would still be too expensive was just a thought Let's not forgot, all of us here will agree that we would rather pack a 4000 seat stadium then shove the same 4000 people in a 22,000 seat arena. The atmosphere wouldn't be the same. Just look at some Horizon schools with giant stadiums that they can't pack (CSU, NKU, etc.). Then we would have to spend more money on curtains. Going to an off campus location would be a sure way to lower student attendance too. If we were to ever build a new basketball arena in the near, I hope the seating doesn't exceed 6k-7k.

until the o'rena is brimming with people for EVERY game there is no need for a new bball arena.

From Tony Paul:
"Next Oakland AD will have to have some serious fundraising chops, because Golden Grizzlies are very determined to add both men's and women's hockey -- with a campus facility that will cost between $40 million and $70 million."
I think it would be awesome to add hockey. However, I think it's a huge money sink that would hurt basketball in the long run.

You want to add hockey (nothing wrong with that) but yet a practice facility can't be built for the basketball teams?

According to the student newspaper, the Lepley renovation is still in the works. Just waiting on a new AD. Hockey would be awesome but best case scenario, it would still take several years to get it going.

I don't think the Palace is a realistic place to begin a program. Who wants maybe 2k people in a 20k seat stadium consistently?
