The Wright State death march continues as the Raiders get a 13-point win at Green Bay. Meanwhile, down in Milwaukee, NKU beat up on the Panthers. Wright State has swept road games at Oakland, NKU, and Green Bay. I can’t convince myself they’ll lose three games the rest of the way. This has been an impressive run. Worst of all, this is a young team. Benzinger is a key senior as is Hughes, but they are getting huge contributions from two freshmen in Love and Winchester and solid play from Hall, also a freshman. The key to this run their on has been Cole Gentry. I didn’t even know who he was until he hit that three against Oakland. Dude is killing it as a sophomore who got eligible at the semester break. I guess you could say I have some point guard envy right now. Man, Scott Nagy. Dude recruited two NBA players to a South Dakota State (Wolters and Daum), left a bevy of talent at SDSU (undefeated in Summit right now), and gets two of his SDSU recruits to follow him to WSU who are looking like locks for All-League honors the next couple years. Good for him, bad for us. Still a lot of season left to go. I don't intend to "crown" them just yet. That said Nagy is a good coach which isn't surprising.

We finally get some help from the bottom half of the Horizon as Milwaukee beats Wright State in Milwaukee, 66-61. Milwaukee tried giving it away with a series of blunders in the final minute, but ultimately a pair of missed free throws from Love and a missed Gentry three to tie it (so the exact opposite of how those guys finished against Oakland) did the Raiders in.
Next weeks trip is huge for contending for the championship!!!

That's league play. Why I mentioned don't crown them just yet. No doubt. I was feeling pretty down the other night watching WSU as a young team get that win at GB we couldn’t as such an old team. But as tonight showed, it’s a long season. Glad Milwaukee got one on WSU.

Interesting events in the HL last night.
Milwaukee upsets Wright State on the road 74-73 which puts NKU back in front and makes Friday nights game against these two "very interesting".
Cleveland State pulls the other big upset knocking off UIC in Chicago 86-78. Important for OU because this opens up the door for the Grizz to grab at least the 3 seed.
