Feels good to be 2-0 in league play heading back home from a grueling roadtrip spanning well over a month. Unfortunately there are a couple other teams the swept the first weekend set of HL games as well. Mercy College being one of them.
Horizon Scores (12/30/18)
Detroit-MERCY 73
Cleveland St. 61
UIC 58
Northern Kentucky 73
IUPUI 64

I know it's just CSU and YSU, but it's a big deal for Detroit to already be sweeping that road trip after their last few years. Mike Davis.
NKU's non-conference schedule wasn't all that, but they really put the hurt on two projected top-half Horizon League teams this weekend. Can't wait to see how Oakland fares on Thursday night.

First game back from over a month long roadtrip they should fare real well or at least I hope so. NKU, while I respect them just doesn't scare me.

Not going to lie, UDM has me sweating a little bit. They absolutely stomped Wright State and are sitting at 3-0 along with us. If we don't win the conference, just please don't let it be them.

Agree that the Titans looked good last night. That said, not trying to be cocky but no one in this league scares me right now. I love the way our guys play and they play hard no matter the score or no matter if it's home or on the road.
I don't think anyone including OU or Mercy fans thought both respective teams would be leading the standings right now. But it is STILL very early.
Horizon Scores (1/3/19)
Cleveland St. 76
Milwaukee 83
Youngstown St. 93
Green Bay 99 (OT)
Wright St. 58
Detroit-MERCY 79

Umm...me too. I'm terrified of Davis at UDM right now. Was his kid good in high school? Every school in the country that had a head coach opening should have hired Davis.

Davis is good yes but they dont seem to have a lot outside him so if kampe can figure out a way to slow him down then its a walk over. This is where you miss those lock down guys meon would have shut him down im guessing tray will guard him Lets hope hes up to it and does a good job but first lets get Wright st

Silver lining: it feels good that the Mercy games are actually going to matter again finally. Like I've said before, we can't crush their spirits if their spirits have already been crushed since November. I'm looking forward to our first game against My-Dad-Works-Here U and that hasn't been true since Ray McCallum Jr. was lighting it up for them.

Umm...me too. I'm terrified of Davis at UDM right now. Was his kid good in high school? Every school in the country that had a head coach opening should have hired Davis. Davis was homeschooled. There is a story out there that he essentially just trained and did skill work throughout high school years with John Lucas and regularly worked out against NBA players. He was committed to Houston before his dad took over UDM. I keep wondering how good Houston would be with him (they are undefeated right now). There is no way ESPN could have known that UDM would be this competitive this soon, especially with just three players returning, or that an Oakland team with no returning starters would be this competitive, but I think they're missing an opportunity not televising OU-UDM this year. Those games could be top notch entertainment.

The Jags edge past the Flames in Chi-Town. UIC tried a half court heave at the buzzer but the shot hit off the backboard.
