Sigh....another disappointing day for the HL. Several winnable games and still coming up short for several teams. CSU surprisingly winning a few games. Not sure how I want to feel about that.

Not a terrible night for the HL. Hope to see more of this in the coming days. Wished Milwaukee could have pulled it out especially over a MVC team. And of course, can also count on Mercy to keep stinking up the joint.

Northern Kentucky 76Miami (OH) 54 Wright St. 76Western KY 74 NKU and Wright State getting things done without their All-League players, Jalen Tate (NKU) and Loudon Love (Wright State), both out due to injury. What's been crazy to watch is the emergence of new guys in place of the stars. Dantez Walton just posted his third 30+ point effort in as many games (which included a close loss to Arkansas). Walton's emergence is one of my favorite college basketball storylines: role player breaks out as an upperclassman and does stuff no one thought possible. I imagine this is how the rest of the Horizon League felt whe XHM finally broke out last year. For Wright State, it's been redshirt freshman Grant Basile stepping up in place of Love. For him to have a great effort against WKU and its NBA potential big man Bassey was surprising to see. If Coach Nagy opts for a Basile/Love frontcourt, it will be the only one that can match Oakland's in the league.

Well, the Horizon couldn't follow up from Tuesday's slate of wins. Cleveland State got brought back down to earth from a solid Toledo team. Man, last Saturday's game bums me out even more.

Another God-awful showing for the HL this weekend. If not for UIC the league would be 0fer yesterday. I don't know if I should be upset or elated about this because it means our young team has a legit chance to win this league.

Another day, another garbage outing for the HL. What the hell has happened to this once proud league??
In other news a few undefeated teams including one that we played in Maryland dropped their first game yesterday. Butler, #1 Louisville, and the Terps lose.

After a disastrous Saturday after HL teams went 1-6 and the one win coming against future HL team Fort Wayne the league picked up a couple wins on Sunday. Really need to do better with less than two weeks before league play kicks off.

In a bit of related news (OU's interest) Hartford knocks off Northwestern on the road 67-66. Granted Northwestern isn't great by any means but it's still a Power 5 win on the road for the Hawks.
