2/29/20 "Leap Year"
Horizon Scores for last day of the regular season.
Youngstown St. 73
Milwaukee 69
This was big for OU.
Cleveland St. 67
Green Bay 74
Detroit-MERCY 90
IUPUI 88
So Mercy college can sweep the Jags but we can't even get one win? Makes me even sicker that we lost to that horrid team.

Horizon League conference win-loss records since Oakland joined the league in 2013-14 (7 Years): Horizon League conference win-loss records since 2016-17 (4 Years). This is an arbitrary cut-off, but it tracks more or less with the beginning of NKU's great era and Scott Nagy coming to Wright State: It's worth noting that this is just the second time that Youngstown State has finished with a winning league record since joining the Horizon League in 2001-02. Coach Calhoun has done a great job with that program and has it tracking in the right direction.

Bad day for Oakland fans and Wright State fans, but for different reasons. UIC beats down Wright State 73-56 in the semifinals. Even worse day for the Horizon League as the ESPN broadcast traded Brooke Weisbrod for Dan Dakich as color commentator. Dakich is based in Indy, so it makes sense, but his level of knowledge of the league is poor and feels mailed-in. Weisbrod used to call HL games all year and was very knowledgeable about the league come tournament time.
Quite a run by UIC thus far. That's a big deal for a coach who many have claimed is a lame duck this year.
Atmosphere at the Indy venue did not seem markedly different from that in Detroit. I guess we'll see what the championship game brings.

The horizon league needs to play an 18 game round robin tournament for its NCAA tournament auto berth.

She knew the league & called several regular season games over the years. Hopefully they will drop Dakich. The Indy venue was mostly empty and it's a small place. There were alot of empty seats on TV. Hopefully that will change next year, but I doubt it. Does Indy care about IUPUI? PFW? I dont know, but I doubt it. This is the place for now, so I guess we have to deal with it. UIC was impressive last night. I did not expect that at all.

NKU beats UIC 71-62 to earn the NCAA tournament bid. Third bid in the last four years.
How about Dantez Walton? The only fourth-year guy on this year's NKU team. In four years, he will have played in three NCAA tournaments and one NIT. What a career.

Forgot Jalen Tate was a medical redshirt his freshman year, so he's in his fourth year at NKU, though just a junior on paper. He played a few games in 2017, so he probably has a ring from that year.

Big Ten cancelled their tournament. Bet WSU wishes the horizon did the same thing.
(Assuming the NCAA tournament even happens)

NBA has suspended play, and so has the PGA tour until after the Master's (from what I've heard). MLB is probably next.
