Easy to see coming, disappointing but I still feel we can get better next year unless the rest of the core leaves. Interesting to see where he will go, possibly a high major but coming off the bench? Won’t get the ability to shoot as much care free elsewhere like he had here.

Very disappointing given the history. Will be interested in how NKU, Detroit, CSU and WSU fair with the transfer portal in the coming days. I think the system, as it now stands, sucks and is bad for mid-majors. Who would want to coach in this kind of environment? Kampe is not perfect, but what could have he done to prevent this - and the departure of others? Answer: Very little.

Not a fan of this damn transfer portal at all. It's being taken advantage of a bit too much IMO.

Maybe we can find someone that fits in better in the portal ourselves? It is the new way and every team will have to adapt.

No doubt it is the new way things are being done. I think some players are just abusing it. Probably not the best term LOL but that's the best I can think of at the moment. The portal has it's place and I won't say that players shouldn't have the right to leave I'm just not a fan of the reasons for some of these players leaving.

I thought him and Jalen would stay together for the duration. Thaat mean Jalen is next?

I am sad Rashad's time at Oakland is over, as I feel like we never quite got to see him at full strength on a consistent basis. His first year was marked by the long waiver appeal process, and he was asked to basically come in and be a mid-January savior. Then this year, between COVID pauses and his shoulder injury, we never got to see Rashad in a true rhythm from October to March. I will always think fondly of his time in the black and gold, and will remember him dropping 37 at Calihan and hitting a game-winner at Calihan, plus putting 32 and 36 on OSU and MSU this season.
The portal will giveth and the portal will taketh. Last year, we lost Tray Maddox, Jr. It opened up a spot for Micah Parrish. Tray and Micah both had great years for their teams this season. I really hope for nothing but the same for Rashad and whoever emerges as the next 2-guard in Oakland's offense.
That said, I was catching up on some podcasts tonight, and I was listening to Doug Gottlieb's recent interview with Max Hooper. I was so enamored by what Max had to say about Oakland, that I typed out his quote. I kid you not, I listened to this about 10 minutes before I saw the Rashad news. Maybe Max's words will resonate with others as they did with me, and made me feel just a bit better about all of this.
You could trade Kay Felder for Jalen Moore and Jalen Hayes for Dan Oladapo, and you have the makings of a good combo for a great shooter here at Oakland. Obviously, if we lose those guys, I will feel much differently.
