That is a remarkable accomplishment to have for 6 years in an 8 or 9-year span. We are definitely a great fit for this league.

Basic question: Where does the athletic program go from here?

Continue to improve across the board. Hopefully we will win more in men's basketball including the conference tournament. I doubt that we are planning on leaving a fairly geographically compact conference to join another where we would be an outlier along with much higher travel costs.

Agreed. I think we have an opportunity to elevate many of our teams to more national prominence. We have some great coaches that have built and revitalized teams recently so first, they need to be retained. Part of that equation is providing an excellent student athlete experience and building facilities to be proud of. We should be thankful for Hovland, Kampe, Rice. They literally built the programs they run and are a major reason for success. Pogue has done well and has the facilities to maintain that. We need to keep Karn, Banfield and Pumford and provide them with top mid major facilities to continue getting quality student athletes. I know, if it were only that easy…but I really like our corp coaches. Let’s get them what they need to be competitive. Sustained winning, student athlete services and a vibrant campus could bump athletics to that next level. More success leads to more donations, students and community pride.
