Tend to think this game will be decided in the opening minutes for Oakland. If they make their initial shots, especially their 3s, look for a good performance. If not, more reliance will be placed on the defense and that’s where problems can start. Hope everyone is in good shape - this will be physically demanding opening game.

Poor shooting, too many turnovers, few second chance shots, kinda sums it up, no?

I hate to say this because the kid is tough but JMo is killing this team right now. I know Kampe said on the radio show that he needs two weeks and will get that in December before Boise State but the team needs it now.
1-6 from 3, 4-16 overall is tough. 6 assist is nice but not when coupled with 6 turnovers. On the year He is shooting 33% from the floor and 18% from 3. On the season he is averaging 4.5 to's a game.
I am not a D1 basketball coach but I have to imagine running Bowman 5 in the first half and 5 in the second half would give JMo a better chance to finish the game strong. In addition running Townsend for 38 minutes against bigger competition may be why we keep it close in the first half and start giving up a ton of offensive rebounds in the second half.

Too many holes and inconsistencies in the overall team - at this stage. As probably expected, shooting was poor out of the gate with some degree of recovery as the game wore on. At this point of the season, the score is almost irrelevant. Are they shooting/defending well and can they adjust when circumstances change? Right now it looks like they need to outshoot the opponent by a wide margin in order to win, which is not a good recipe against quality opponents.
