Certainly a few comments on the board about how things *could* turn around in the next two games. While I am hopeful, I am struggling to see how. Too many holes and inconsistencies on both offense and defense. Oakland’s approach and performance must be fundamentally different than what we have seen in the past month. The barometer will be if they are able to hit shots in the beginning of tonight’s game. If no, then expect a repeat performance of the tournament. Also, it is time for Rocket Watts to do something…

We need to win tonight but I just heard a rumor that one of our star players didn't make the trip and is out till next year with a broken arm. the dude would not tell me who but said we won't win again till Green Bay at home. Don't know if he's bull Sh*tting me or not, but he's the same guy who told me about rocket visiting Oakland.

Can somebody tell Moore that he doesn't have the build to drive to the basket. It seems a lot of times he's trying to draw a foul, doesn't get the call and turns the ball over. I'm sure it can't be good for his body, either.

With this loss, Oakland just crossed the 300th rank threshold in Ken Pom rankings, which I believe is a program first in the Division I era.
Fifth worst per possession defense nationally.
And a team just rebounded 56.5 percent of their misses.
How did this staff not land a single rebounding big guy this off season? Detroit just had a guy debut who grabbed 16 boards in a huge road win.

I'm sure it can't be good for his body, either. It has been that way for the last two years. Moore had more turnovers than assist tonight. In addition his poor outside shooting continued. With that said how did Hearvey and Townsend out rebound the rest of the team combined? We had 3 starters combine for 88 minutes and 3 rebounds.

A disillusioned team, within a disillusioned program, with a disillusioned coach. When the basic response on the radio is “I don’t know,” you know there are major problems. It pains me to make that assessment.
The current mess is rooted in very bad strategic decisions in the prior offseason. No ability to rebound is just the start, followed by desperate shooting and now, a collapsing defense. None of this could have been foreseen?
I believe the trajectory of the program was set on March 4, 2017 at the Horizon League Tournament. Oakland was a No. 1 seed and lost to No. 8 YSU 81-80. While yes, since then there were good wins (e.g. vs Clemson) and very good players in the program, Oakland has never really recovered. A rooster with continual turnover has resulted in an inconsistent team that either folds early or can’t hold a lead at crunch time. Very sad….

It's almost as if they are being asked to do too much of what they aren't accustomed to(defense and rebounding), that the rest of their game has suffered. They look totally lost out there.
