How about this for Trey Townsend. Starts his career unexpectedly starting in a game at Xavier with a 52 point loss, four years later gets a win on the same court scoring 28 points and getting national recognition. Amazing stuff for Trey. Coincidentally, last night's game was Trey's 100th of his career.

Incredible win. I must say I'm beyond shocked at what this team has become after losing to a Div 2 school. That being said, the officiating in these games against Power 6 schools is criminal. We are always in foul trouble and have to fight an uphill battle. This one may have been the worst never called it the same for either team just seemed like the refs were just guessing not a good look on national TV for them There was a stretch of like 6 possessions there where Xavier either made a basket or was fouled. And not a lot of them looked like fouls (to my unbiased eyes)

Kampe, the program and the athletic department have received a great deal of grief on this board and other platforms over the past 5 years. Whomever was the catalyst for building depth on this team deserves a ton of credit (probably Kampe). Going with a short bench historically only increased fatigue and likelihood of injury over a long season. Regardless, this year’s team is proving that you don’t have to rely on one or two players night after night.
Btw - this performance is even more remarkable given the absence of Lampman.

Know this, I'm 7 for 7 on my 25$ cover bets. LFG

The new assistant coach Bobby Naubert from Garden City may play a role as well. The 3 Garden City transfers, as well as DQ Cole from Henry Ford, have provided a lot of depth to the roster. Oakland had previously not recruited many JUCO players.

At the BGSU game, I noticed he was VERY active talking with players as they were coming off the court after timeouts and lingering on the court with them before play resumed. It was more than I've ever seen an assistant coach do before. I didn't put 2 and 2 together and realize that's who this coach is. I really liked it.

Seen him do that a lot while watching the Xavier game too

He was brought here as a good young assistant who already has a rapport with some players. The garden city to OU pipeline is flowing and bringing him here to fill the void when Tony left just made sense. An Oakland manager went to GCCC to start their career as an assistant backfilling Bobby’s role.
Buru, Tone, and have to wonder who’s next.
