If OU looks to win this game they cannot shoot themselves in the foot like they did at NKU and gift points to the opposing team. Have to be better at the mental aspects of the game especially at this point in the season.

From a casual observation, it looked like Kampe went with a shorter bench last game against NKU. I am sure he had his reasons, some of which were quite obvious. If they are to win today against WSU, they need less reliance on 3s and more bench contributions. More distributed playing time is a signal from Kampe he likes his chances in a given game. The less distributed, the more he feels he needs to rely on core players - who then are more likely to be error prone at the end of the game.
Fans have been hoping Oakland to be in this position for the past 10 years. At some point they need to win games like today.

Oakland punked Wright State in the Nutter Center. Just an amazingly tough performance in a series where the roles have often been reversed.
Wow, that felt good!

Nice convincing win. Needed this one to keep pace with Green Bay.

Glad we got this win where we were in control for much of the game.It was also to see multiple guys get hit offensively Cole, Trey, Golke, Conway, etc. We had big contributions from everyone in multiple ways; Buru, Blake, Hunter. I felt like Wsu was gonna do a big run, but our defense was very good tonight. I think our depth was certainly a major key.

Wow. A statement win, a program win, a vindication win. Oakland’s fundamentally different approach of emphasizing depth has paid off. While it doesn’t guarantee an NCAA birth, they now have the tools for any type of opponent. They will need it against a heavy 3 point shooting team in PFW, who appears to have come back down to earth.
Compared to GB, I believe Oakland has an easier path in the next 5 games. Kampe should be very pleased moving forward.
