Not having a bench really showed up tonight. We also turned the ball over too much tonight as well. Hopefully they will learn from it and be a better team down the road from it.

Im very happy about this game, as coach said we played with them, on their court, when they played well. Its not like we kept it close because they were bad.
This gives me a lot more confidence against Illinois, Michigan, and Tennessee.

Overall a pretty well played game by the Grizzlies. I can't single anyone out for having a bad game and several of our guys had really good games. Purdue has incredible depth! They have 5 or 6 guys that could win a game for them on any night.
I think we need to continue to focus on defending the 3 point line. It can't be "random bad luck" that every BCS school shoots high percentage from outside.
If Purdue really is #9 in the country and they actually start beating some ranked teams (they've played nobody's and US so far), this could end up proving how decent we are. I think if we put up this kind of performance against U of M we could beat them. Although they do shoot the 3 very well.....
Can't wait til our next matchup, I hate seeing our guys lose!

Its hard to say if UofM is any good what-so-ever since they havent played anyone better than horrible.
I am EXPECTING a win against UofM and hoping for a split of Tennessee and Illinois.

I may lump MSU in with that group as well especially since we play them at the Palace. I agree with ouguy that there needs to be more focus on defending that three ball. Too many of the major teams that we play seem to be able to bomb away from the perimeter and I don't think it is just mere coincidence.

Tough loss, although there are some major positives to take out of this one. We just didn't have the horses to match a team like Purdue down the stretch (we only had 4 bench points, all from Ledrick). Disappointing, but we gave it a good shot. Here's a good write-up from the Purdue perspective: www.jumboheroes.com/?p=445

They really don't shoot the 3 ball well. Well, count me in with those that say the UofM game is winnable. But they shoot the 3 at 38%- which puts them at 80th in the country right now- thats still in the top 25% of the country.

Here is another Purdue-perspective post game: www.hammerandrails.com/2010/11/21/1828896/passing-the-first-real-testJust got back from the game. I read these two reviews and was very surprised to see the glowing reviews of Oakland. From listening to fans in the section dantheman and I were in and around the concourse at half-time, there was almost no discussion of Oakland being good, just Purdue needing to do this or Purdue needing to do that. Good to hear the more level-headed folks could see some quality on the court. Very tired from the game, but a few quick thoughts. Mackey is a great arena, I will always be a fan of a small school over a big school every day of the week, and being in that atmosphere as an opposing fan was entirely intimidating even despite mostly cordial home fans. Good trip, bummed it couldn't have been closer at the end like it was at the half. But lots of learning. I also wholly endorse the return of poster biglew. That was a high-quality post back on page one, sir.
