Thanks for the scouting report on the scouts, LeoBrn12! I was sitting in the group of scouts as well, mostly in front of them, but they seemed very reserved and like they didn't want to talk much. I didn't really want to bother them much because they were working.
My own personal scouting report from tonight is that Benson is not aggressive enough on offense at times, often relies on dribbling down low too often (easy steals), and doesn't seem to show enough emotion. However, I love his shooting ability and his blocking ability, and I think that will help his stock.
On another note, what a great game for the Grizzlies! They took a commanding lead and held it throughout the entire game. The gameplan was to pound them down low and instead we rifled 3 after 3 on them. If Bader and Hamilton can continue shooting above 50% from behind the arc, they will be a deadly combo!
Our defense was decent, better than in some other contests (VALPO!!??). We forced IUPUI to make some great shots with some of their great shooters. However, we did give them a few too many easy lay-ins where they basically ran through the D. Glad to see perimeter defense now includes a hand in the face of the shooter.
OU needs to take care of business and not look past the Leathernecks saturday, and then on to the big summit showdown with the Mastodons. That game is gonna be HUGE!

Leobrn - amazing info! It was a pleasure to read that. Kudos. As for the scouts thing, I saw this from Paul Kampe's twitter: Confirmed scouts in the house: Pistons 2X, Bulls 2X, Knicks, Heat, Jazz, Mavs, Raptors & Blazers. As for the game, I thought it was very exciting! After watching the two holiday games, it was nice to be reminded of the energy that can be felt in the O'rena. I was so impressed by the Grizz Gang. To see both sections packed with some students packing themselves in rows for a game during the first week of school on a crappy weather night...simply amazing. I found myself wishing I was still enrolled to join them in their antics once again! Great job to the current students. However, I was disappointed in....just kidding. The game was a thrill featuring some great contributions from everyone. Valentine continues to be a baller, just shy by one rebound of another double-double. Lastly, Austin Daye and Greg Monroe of the Pistons were in the house for the game. I always think it is cool to see some Pistons come out for the games on their off days, even if they're playing with their phones half the time! EDIT: I believe the game is re-airing tomorrow (Friday) at Noon on FSD, according to my TVGuide.com listings lol.

Assuming that "hammer" is Eackles, this hurts. Any details about what kind of break it was (clean break or requiring surgery, etc), and what recovery time frame we're looking at?
Watching the game again on DVR, you can see that Eackles actually twisted the ankle on his plant foot going up, rather than landing awkwardly, which makes it pretty impressive that he still put the ball in the basket.

Very sorry to hear that Ledrick broke his ankle. Hoping we get a confirmation from the staff soon on the severity of the situation. Hopefully he'll be able to go by the time late February comes around.
In the meantime, I'm anxious to see how Bass might handle even more extra minutes. Watching the kid, it is clear he "sees" the game very well, as some of his passes indicated last night.
Also Alex Young's dunk came in at number 10 on SportsCenter's top 10 last night. Here is a video of it:

Just found this from the FoxSports.com Jeff Goodman blog: Mid-Major Stud: Despite Oakland’s brutal non-conference struggles, the Golden Grizzlies are no lock to win the Summit. Back-to-back wins over Oral Roberts and now IUPUI, though, give them some breathing room. Last night, Reggie Hamilton went for 28 points and seven assists, hitting seven 3-pointers. Five first-half 3-pointers helped Oakland jump out to a 19-point halftime lead. Link: jeffgoodman.yardbarker.com/blog/jeffgoodman/foxsportscom_nightly_awards/3922888
