The crowd was sick. I got a ticket around 5:30pm and my friend told me at 5:45pm that they were selling standing room only. At that point I was surprised because there looked to be a lot of seats left, but by about 10 minutes left in the first half, the O'rena was packed full. Always seem to have a late-arriving crowd, but this was just amazing. In Paul Kampe's game story, linked here, he noted that the 3,805 on hand was the fourth largest crowd in O'rena history!!!! Just stunned...for Western Illinois! I love where this program is going and glad they are winning, winning, winning. Great job by Dan Fenner as always too. We are fortunate to have such solid coverage by the student paper.

First off, great game by the Grizzlies. It looked a little sloppy at times with guys jumping and diving everywhere, but we played like a 1st place team outta play. After 3 or 4 shaky minutes, we just shut the Leathernecks down. 18 points in the 1st half?? Grizzlies are lookin good!
A lot of interesting things happening these last two games with the few injured guards. Although he occasionally tries to do too much, I'm starting to like Reggie running the point. I think he moves us up court a lot faster than Larry does, and at times you can see his year under JJ's wing starting to show. Although he didn't have an amazing shooting night, I like his tempo. With Larry possibly being a better pure shooting guard, maybe we'll see Reggie running the point and Larry shooting when he gets more healthy.
Kito is essentially being turned invisible by the opposing Summit teams. I don't think he will get near the stat lines he had against the BCS schools because those schools did a lot less double and triple teaming him because of the athletes they had (or thought they had).
I think we are starting to see what really happens when Kito gets double teamed: the rest of the teams shooting percentage goes up! Look at thursday, I've never seen us shoot the 3 so well. Today the percentage wasn't huge, but 48% is gonna win you a lot of games in the Summit. Although Benson isn't getting his points or rebounds, he can turn into a great force for us getting our guys wide open shots.
Lastly, you gotta love Drew Valentine's play the last few games. I'll be honest, I was not a big of him last year and even the beginning of this year. He seemed like a wild man. If he keeps it slow and doesn't take as many bad shots, he is gonna be huge for us. He is really impressing me with his rebounding! Keep it up man.

Anyone else watching the last two OU press conferences and wondering what the hell was up with the audio and video quality? Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic that OU is posting these now, as it is one of the first things I check out when I get home. However, the audio on the narrator is quite shocking and ear destroying and Will and Travis looked like ghosts! Hope they get there technical problems sorted out, I know they don't have a lot of time after the game.
