Game Thread: OU vs. IPFW

Great job by the Oakland faithful who made the trip to Ft. Wayne last night.

Also impressive postgame comments from Dane Fife, who I felt had been reluctant to give Oakland too much credit before this:

“I don’t think we’re going to see another team like this in 30 years, they’re that good,” Fife said. “This team is a very, very good – very good – basketball team. Then you throw in the two big guys who can start for most Big Ten teams. It’s an unbelievable team.”

I had the opportunity to travel to the game last night on the OUAA bus. It was a great time. The OU fans at the game were great (loudest student section of the year so far). The Bass dunk was unforgettable and really pumped up the team and the crowd. I was really happy with the team's performance. OU turned up their game to a level of performance that I have never seen before from OU. The game gave me confidence that this team WILL get it done come March!

There were many great moments yesterday, but one of the best was after the game as all fans were leaving the stadium. It felt like the OU fans thought we just won the national championship. Everyone left the stadium chanting OU and dancing. I have never seen OU fans so pumped up over a league win (It felt like last year vs ORU on homecoming).
