Very good new for the league in my opinion. You're welcome to share your thoughts if you like on our site: www.SummitZoo.com

They've got a good profile and all, and they aren't making a D1 transition which are positives. But its just the distance for us (the eastern outlier). Maybe we can add 1 or 2 schools further east like in Minn or WI maybe. Somewhere that's a reasonable driving distance. That's my only beef w/ the add.

Great move for the Summit League. Not a great move for Oakland, but to be honest if I was Tom Douple I wouldn't consider Oakland much in my analysis of who/who not to add after OU's public overtures to the Horizon League last summer.
Even if Oakland is in the Summit League long-term, I still really like the addition of Denver. It's far, but it's a destination city unlike Cedar City, which required a flight to Vegas and a two hour bus ride.

While I'm sure DU isn't ideal for you guys at least it is a direct flight to KC, direct flight to denver and a direct flight home.

Hard for me to be really excited about a team 1100 miles away. I'm happy to see its not a D2 transitioning program, but I see this as yet another reason why we need to run away from the Great Plains Conference

Too bad DU fans have such an elite attitude about the Summit. They are like many who think there is no talent to keep their interest. If they run the table in a year, congratulation. As OU can attest, having a good program does not waltz one to the destination desired and sometimes life is not fair. DU fans need to be in the seats to create the step as well. OU can claim that and still not be usherered into a regional conferenc with an annual tough schedule and strong team. DU will be a good basketball addition who I hope finds it hard to win on the road. A strong Summit is a plus to all members whether they want to be there or not.

What's next for the Great Plains Conference? (Thanks, OUGuy) Chaminade University? Tsinghua University? Glad to see that the conference doesn't care about the eastern teams one bit.

Nice finds B&G. I think their fans will be surprised at the level of competition in TSL hoops. We can check their message boards in about 2 years and see what they look like then.
