Just reported within the hour, Jeff Goodman of CBSSports (apparently checking in from poolside in the Bahamas, good work) reporting that Denver will be joining the Summit League.
Big move. Denver, in the WAC this year, will be jumping to its third conference in very short time. Last year in the Sun Belt, they won a school-record 22 games even though they didn't advance to the NCAA Tournament (rightfully) or the NIT (not so much).
Great news for the Summit League. Although, who knows how long this news matters to us. Here's some Rand McNally for you: University of Denver is 1,146 miles from Oakland. Not quite OU-to-SUU distance (1,605), but still. I believe that puts Oakland as the farthest school from Denver in the league.

I believe that puts Oakland as the farthest school from Denver in the league. It had better not. Green Bay makes for a much more economical "farthest school."

At least Denver brings a significant market and is a few hundred miles closer to Rochester than Cedar City.

I believe he was saying we need to be in the horizon where green bay is the farthest school.
