Ledrick Eackles got his first meaningful minutes since re-joining the McNeese State line-up this week. He played for seven minutes earlier in the week in his debut, and then tonight got in for 18 minutes in a win at Texas Tech. Ledrick couldn't buy a jump shot in his last year with Oakland, but tonight he went 3-3 from deep and had a total of 13 points. He also played most of his minutes in the second half while the Cowboys made a run to take the game from Texas Tech. Even though TTU is one of the worst Big 12 teams, it's still impressive that a McNeese State squad that lost to LSU by 25 could win this one. I got to watch a good chunk of the game on TV and was excited to see Ledrick hitting shots and making an impact. Hopefully he found his shot in his transfer year and can keep it going to help his team.

nice find as always B&G! Glad to see that he seems to be getting his groove back little by little. Hopefully he can maintain that throughout the rest of the season and continue to contribute to the McNeese State team

Ledrick Eackles earned a spot on the Southland's All-League Second Team this season. McNeese State finished 9-9 in conference, and Ledrick really hit his stride in conference play. He averaged 19.7 points per game in conference games in addition to 4.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.3 steals. He was still a bit of a volume shooter -- 41.4% from the floor -- but he did hit 40.7% of his threes in league play. Considering Ledrick made just 19% of his threes with Oakland, he definitely improved his jumper!
It seemed unlikely that Ledrick would even play this year given that he left the team last year, but he has turned in a really good season as a Cowboy. Awesome ending for a guy who went to two tourneys in his two years at Oakland.
