The second straight offseason that Cleveland State loses its leading scorer to transfer (last year Bryn Forbes). It is a tough blow to Cleveland State and the league to lose Trey Lewis, who apparently will be eligible immediately as a 5th year graduate student.
CSU did a great job this season by rebounding after the loss of Forbes and you can only hope they can do so again next season for the sake of the league. I don't wish this on any mid-major program.

It seems like there might be something to Cleveland state losing their beat players. I remember when Bader had an opportunity to leave because he had graduated, but he didn't. Do the players just not enjoy playing in Cleveland?

That's a good question. But look at how valuable Bryn Forbes has been at MSU. I imagine players are thinking they could be a major contributor and make a deep post season run at a big program despite how unrealistic that may be. A kid from Valpo did the same thing a few seasons ago.
The Forbes example has to be the exception and not the rule.

I for one appreciate Trey Lewis' assistance in making sure next year's Horizon League season is just a two-team race between us and Valpo.

He is probably just looking to hook up with a team that can get in the tourney.
Calliste from Detroit did the same thing a couple years ago when he went to Oregon. He can be a starter or 6th man at a number of BCS school - he has the talent, no doubt.

Do the players just not enjoy playing in Cleveland? I don't think there really is anything to it. Forbes had a family illness back home in Lansing, has transferred up, & is reunited with his old high school teammate. Lewis played in the BIG at Penn State. He only played 1 year @ CSU. I'd imagine he is looking to get back to that level.
