O'rena Upgrade Impressions

I took my daughter to the volleyball match last night. Immediately noticed a difference with the lights. They are awesome! Can't wait to see the configuration for basketball.

The sound was better, but I am not sure if the project is complete. There is an array of speakers hanging from the ceiling on either side of the court on the south side. Almost like a special event setup. It looks a little out of place but not terrible. I believe the old speakers are disconnected but they are still mounted. If they are not compatible, maybe they will be removed and a few additional support speakers on the north side can be added to even out the sound.

The blacktop looks as cool as it does on Twitter. The west stands were folded so it was hard to tell exactly what it will look like for basketball but I am getting anxious.

Thanks for the impression!! I hope they get the sound balanced out. I noticed the new speakers while playing for commencement but I'm curious to hear how the Orena will sound.

I missed the introductions. I would have really liked to see the new lights/video/sound in full effect! The new speakers definitely have enough power to fill the O'rena. It might be better to sit closer to the north side to get the best experience. I may post some pics if I can figure out how to do it from my phone.

How cool would it be if volleyball had a separate court to play on that looked like sand on the beach?

Anyhow - It really does look fantastic - can't wait to get to many games this year.
