In other games of interest:

Valpo obliterated Iona in what was expected to be a matchup of top mid majors. 83-58 is an absolute ass kicking. Very impressive.

Valpo obliterated Iona in what was expected to be a matchup of top mid majors. 83-58 is an absolute ass kicking. Very impressive. Indeed. I can't stand most of their snobbish fans but they do have one hell of a team this season. Looking forward to the matchup in January.

Detroit (MERCY) takes care of Central State (OH) 88-65 as the only game in the HL tonight.
Another big time upset to kick off the season as George Washington upsets No. 6 Virginia in the nation's capital this evening. May have the blueprint on being able to knock off the Cav's as we play them in late Dec.

Not the best day for the HL.
Cleveland St and Northern Kentucky win handily over D2 opponents.
UIC gets destroyed by Western Illinois who is building off of the upset win of Wisconsin.
Green Bay loses to Middle Tennessee State.
Valpo with the narrow escape win at Rhode Island 58-55 this morning.
Definitely need to do our part tomorrow and win over EMU.

Just want to point out that Valpo win @ Rhode Island is a VERY impressive win. Rhode Island is a top 50 team and they were playing in a pretty hostile environment.

A good win yes, impressive not really. RI's best player, a guard from Romulus Michigan, EC Mathews did not play. EC is a projected first round pick when he comes out. It was RI's first game without him. They are no where near the same tame. Think of us if we lost Kay.

The Horizon had a respectable showing last night (just wished OU had done their part)
Cleveland State knocks off Rider 57-52
Green Bay gets a good win over Akron 66-63
Milwaukee drops a tough one to Duquesne in OT 96-92
Valpo picks up a solid win at Oregon State after losing to Oregon Sunday 63-57
Wright State and UIC pick up wins against non D1 schools.
