According to his Twitter account, Oakland got a commitment from Babatunde Sowunmi today. His Twitter account is followed by Tony Jones. Finding info on this guy has been kind of tough, not sure there is much of a basketball background here. Based on the limited Google results, here is what I could find: He is in the Class of 2018 and played AAU for Team Power out of Georgia. There is a photo at the top of the Team Power 2018 Facebook page, and I think he is on the far right. www.facebook.com/pg/TeamPowerBasketball2018/photos/?ref=page_internalThis article recapping an AAU event says that Sowunmi is 6-foot-10: www.hoopseen.com/news/event/201704/what-watch-atljam-georgia-editionBased on the Georgia location, I am pretty sure he goes to high school at Solid Rock Academy in Georgia. Notably, he is on the Youth Commission for the local county government down there, which has this nice profile about him: www.claytoncountyga.gov/departments/board-of-commissioners/youth-commission/meet-our-youth-commissioners/mDeviceCWS_Textpage.aspx (I am pretty sure it is the same person). His name is referenced in a few game stories about Solid Rock's games, but not much else is out there as far as his skill set, point/rebound/block numbers, etc. The commits keep on coming for 2018. I am really happy to see a big man commit after the slew of guards. Hopefully this is another diamond in the rough big guy commit in the vein of a Keith Benson or Isaiah Brock. Either way, it sounds like he is a great kid from the youth commission stuff linked above. Welcome to Oakland!

Seems likely this was the main target for Kampe and crew and why he was in GA when he almost died.
