It appears the Golden Grizzlies received another commitment for their 2019 class in 6’7” forward Jackson Harris out of Toledo, Ohio. Not much info or highlight videos around on him but from what I was able to find I would say his player comparison and overall game is very similar to Chris Palombizio. Also, had offers from Air Force and 3 DII schools (Walsh, Lake Erie and (Cedarville).

So from everything I can find about him, through his sophomore year, Harris appears to have been one of those kids who dominated just by being taller than everyone in his high school conference. Once he wasn't getting very much attention from D1 schools because a skinny 6'7" kid is unlikely to be a dominant college post player like he was in high school, he spent the summer of 2017 working on his outside shot and over the past season and a half has turned himself into a nice inside-outside player. If everything his coach says about him is true, his biggest strength might actually be his devotion to the game. He has a reputation for being a gym rat and film-room mainstay and that kind of hard work is always valuable in a locker room. You mentioned Chris Palombizio and, without having seen him play, that sounds like an apt comparison. Harris sounds like he can jump right in to the role of "grit guy" with good hope that he'll blossom into even more. Fun facts about Jackie Harris: - There's a rumor that he committed to D2 Cedarville over the summer but I searched and couldn't find any conclusive evidence. - It appears that Jerry Harris of EMU's football team is his cousin - I'm not saying he was named after Laurie Metcalf's character in Roseanne, but that Jackie Harris existed years before our Jackie Harris did, so it's never too late to get that rumor started. Hudl's video player isn't working right now, but here's his Hudl page if you want to try to check out his highlight videos at some later time: twww.hudl.com/profile/8689727/Jackie-Harris

So with the addition of CJ Gettlefinger and Jackson Harris next year as freshmen that will bring the roster up to 12 players. Does this leave any room for possible mid-season transfers that Kampe mentioned on one of the past radio shows? If I remember correctly, he said they were targeting two transfer prospects, one being from a Power Five team. Haven’t heard anything about this recently so maybe they committed elsewhere or the decision process is still ongoing.

Well right now without Nobles on the roster there’s 10 players so adding Gettlefinger and Harris brings it up to 12. It may be possible one of them is redshirted because if they were to get a transfer or two, I don’t see them dressing more than 12.

Well I guess the info from Kampe on tonight’s radio show answers my question about the mid-season transfers as he said they unfortunately lost out on all three they were targeting. From what he said about the one committing to an Atlantic 10 school and being from a Power 5 school in a warm weather area I was able to find that it was the former Florida Gator, Chase Johnson. He’s a 6’9” forward who recently committed to Dayton and was a former 4 star recruit (#81 in the 2017 class). Would’ve been a huge addition to a team that I think is missing one more consistent scorer, aside from Cumberland and X.

After the week this program has had, I was worried when I saw activity in this thread. Glad to hear Harris signed.
