I will be curious to know if Emmanuel Newsome has any relation to Dr. Emanuel Newsome, a legendary Western Michigan basketball player in the 1960s. Dr. Newsome retired from working at FAU in Boca Raton, FL. If so, I feel better about a Florida kid coming up to Michigan knowing there is at least some family history here.
Emmanuel Newsome appears to be good friends with Zaire Wade, son of Dwyane Wade, and a high-major prospect himself. Newsome becomes the second person to come to Oakland with some ties to the LeBron James/Dwyane Wade friendship (former assistant coach Brandon Weems being the first).
Congrats to Newsome on his commitment. He has signed according to his social media.
