Our first 2020 recruit is 6'9", 195 lb. center Chris Conway. His hudl page: www.hudl.com/video/3/8701175/583503a05b3cd9168c46d630A highlight video on Youtube: He also had offers from Milwaukee, UIC, Toledo, Depaul, UAB, and UC Davis, and benefitted from a late growth spurt so he may have been overlooked by other schools because of his size. From the looks of the tape I've seen, there's alot of upside here. He has a good shot from outside, a really nice mid-range jumper, decent passing skills for a big man, good anticipation while rebounding, and while he isn't a shutdown defender, he plays it well enough for OU. On the downside, while he has some decent moves inside, he's going to join the long line of OU bigs that take a year or two before looking anything like an effective D1 post player. He's skinny. His highlight reel only shows him inside against kids smaller than him. Worse, he looks like he has Larry Bird Syndrome (seriously, I'm pretty sure I have better ups that he does, and I'm an out-of-shape 30-something). I have no doubt he has all the tools to be a star in the Horizon League, but think back to Brad as a freshman, or Corey, and you should get an idea of what we should expect inside from him for at least the first year. Still, the kid's got a nice shot, and shooters are always welcomed here.
