Thanks scout. I thought I would reply to your comment placed on the mercy board over here so you can confirm activity on this board. I believe the real reason there is less activity using this platform is because message boards were made popular by people of my age and older. The fact of the matter is that Twitter and Instagram are far more mainstream methods to share information and that certainly is the case for younger fans. There are a handful of very active Oakland fans on Twitter that share info and engage in regular discussion. I don’t see that nearly as much for mercy. I think that speaks to the demographic of the fan base.
As always, I appreciate the unfounded claim that mercy is better academically. For giggles, here is something to consider. College should be a very personal decision. People thrive in different environments so attending an institution that allows them to develop and excel should be the main consideration. From what I’ve read and witnessed, the students and faculty are quite comparable for both institutions. OU has a greater public obligation to serve a diverse population with a broader socioeconomic background than the private UDM. Fortunately, OU’s location is close to the best school district’s in the area so OU benefits from academically sound students that live at home. It also is a far more comprehensive, research university. UDM is great if you flourish in a religious environment with smaller class sizes.
Keep on posting over here. I’m sure it gets read by many. But you might need a Twitter account to keep current.

Hey, Pioneer - I'm not looking for any kind of fight - I really do appreciate what Kampe has done with your program & am getting frustrated with the failure of the Davis era. I plan on following your team more closely and hope to post here about any recruiting stuff I hear. I'm a U of D Engineering Alum and their program has surely served me well, so of course I'm a U of D guy first. I was just surprised by a lack of response to a new recruit, but it is what it is. Good luck for the rest of the offseason and hopefully both programs will be strong next season

I appreciate the post/news. I didnt post because I'm not sure how excited to get about a JUCO transfer from a team that won 2 games and he shot 30% from the field at 6'8.
His build certainly has a wow factor to it though and obviously I hope he has been improving the last last year.

If he can defend, block shots here and there, and rebound, then let's see what that looks like on a D1 level is how I see it.

I'd echo what exodus1500 said: he's a juco player that most of us have never seen before, so it's hard to know what we're even getting. Obviously hope he works out here.
Secondly, hsscout, you say you didn't come here for a fight, yet you posted on the UDM forum that OU is inferior academically and bragged about how much more active your forum is (as if that means anything?). I guess if your team on the court isn't performing, gotta make up something to make your school seem better.

I was hoping to contribute here & I really was being sincere in my comments about your basketball program and Coach. Of course I believe U of D is better academically - It's my alma mater. I think everyone would feel that way about their alma mater. I didn't post that comment here because I'm not here to insult anyone, plus I only wanted to post about basketball related stuff. If you don't want me to post, then fine. Good luck this season (except for when you play us)...

Continue to post content here. You’re right, I grabbed your post and brought it to this board. You did not technically post it to this site. You’re certainly entitled to your opinions. I just think it’s important to call out the difference between opinions and actual data. Let’s be honest, if money were no option, no one is going to either one of these schools if UM or Stanford offers admission. Some UDM fans confuse that with their positive college experiences.
Better academics and athletics help the Horizon so we should root for one another…most of the time.

I think you’re looking at his freshman year stats.. he improved his efficiency tremendously in his 2nd season: njcaaregion5.com/sports/mbkb/2021-22/players/chuoldengi48tHe transferred to Hill College and they went 21-10 and he shot 52% from the field, 71% from the ft line, and 27% from 3.
