James Flippin a 6'11'' juco stretch big signed with IUPUI. I had been following his recruitment a little off and on for a few months. He is from Milwaukee, an had much better offers (OU, Iona, New Mexico State, etc). Does anybody know why he signed with lowly IUPUI? The dots aren't connecting for me. I understand it's about more than just the best school to offer you, but they had historic struggles last year. I like their coach, but this just seems odd.

I'm guessing at this point.

He will likely be able to lead the country in minutes if their roster is thin again.

U of D announced Coach Montgomery’s first four signees…all coming from high school or prep, three from Michigan. This is a very different approach from the former regime and certainly a different approach than a lot of college basketball is taking right now. It’s strange, HS recruiting has taken such a backseat, I find myself excited that some local kids are getting a chance at U of D. detroittitans.com/news/2024/5/1/mens-basketball-montgomery-announces-first-signees.aspx
