Really good. They are 2-0 coming off wins against Valpo and UAB. They are top 5 in the Mid-Major rankings and return several key players including JT Shumate which feels like he's been there forever. The Grizz have to be able to hit shots when open or like Okie State this could get ugly in a hurry. The Rockets remember last years beatdown at the "O" so the guys need to be ready.

Starting to really think this team is just not any good another poor shooting half plus giving up high percentage on to other team yikes They're not shooting well because they're physically overwhelmed. Shooting is about rhythm & comfort and it's really hard to achieve that when you're not able to get open looks. Unless some of our guards can start to magically start winning some 1 on 1 battles to open the court up, its going to be a long year. Trey Townsend is good but he has zero help down low.

Does playing against teams that are clearly head and shoulders above you make you a better team? I believe you are only as good as your talent allows. If you can't put the ball in the bucket on a consistent basis, playing a better team is not going to fix that.

112 points by Toledo. I know they are a good team, but what will eastern put up? How about MSU? Is this the most points given up by Oakland? I looked back all the way to 1999-00 season and no team had put up that many points. Next closest was MSU a few years ago. Are we in for a long year?

I've been told repeatedly on this forum that no negative posts are allowed....even though no one cares enough to post here anymore

There were more points allowed during the run and gun DII era. KenPom goes back to 2001-02 season and 112 is most on his database, but more tellingly the 1.44 points per possession allowed is #6 worst for OU in same time frame.

We have a lot of room for growth. This out of conference schedule is more than we can handle. I think we need to slow things down more, this fast pac is not working either. Toledo is good, but their not that good. Of course I'm assuming this was also a revenge game for how we handled them last year too.

We're in for at least a rough few weeks. We all knew the season would start bad, but what little improvement is there is coming too slow for my tastes so far. Either this team figures it out and gels before New Year's or that rough few weeks turns into a bad season. There's alot to like from this roster, but right now, there's alot to dislike too.
Completely unrelated, but Toledo's play-by-play guy sounds waaaay too much like Neal. It was throwing me off all game.
