Before the conference tournament, there was speculation that Trey would: * Test the NBA Draft waters * Transfer up and get paid some guaranteed NIL money * Return to Oakland
Seems to me he'll transfer.... I thought there was a small chance that he would return to Oakland, but I don't think you can top this season and coming back would never live up to what they accomplished.
I will say that we'd have a great team returning if he did decide to come back though (assuming we keep Conway, DQ and Buru and add a shooter from the portal again). He'd also likely obliterate the OU record book.
I wonder where he'll transfer to. Hopefully it's out of the Big Ten. I'd love to see him in the Big 12 or ACC.
I will also pray to the gods that he does not go to MSU. Izzo doesn't deserve him and I don't think I could physically stomach watching us play him in an MSU jersey.

If Trey stays in college, I would hope that there is an honest attempt from Oakland boosters or businesses to throw a package together for NIL that at least makes him pause.
That said, he has given everything to Oakland and led the program to the promised land. His number should be in the rafters when all is said and done.
If Trey wears green and white, I will wish him the best, hope it came with a cool six figure payday, and vigorously root against him and the Spartans at LCA in December and then hope he becomes POTY in his new conference too!

If Trey wants to transfer to a power conference and make some NIL money, I'll always root for him.

x.com/mid_madness/status/1772485039739089406?s=20Very cool video Trey posted on his IG.I'm with Garry on this one. When it comes to the most important players to ever come through Oakland I've got a hard time believing there'anyone higher than Trey. Heck, it's posisble he's making more money than Kampe playing college basketball next year. As much as I hate it, it seems obvious that the right decision is for him to move up to power 5 for his bonus year.

Trey, please don't go to MSU. There are dozens of better locations and coaches.
You'll be able to expand your game and horizons outside of Michigan.

All the pressure is on Izzo to go to the portal and avoid another early-tournament exit. Trey better make him pony up the $$$$$

I love Tony Paul. His coverage of Oakland is the best thing since Paul Kampe was the dedicated beat guy for the Oakland Press. But the line about the $500,000 on the upper end is frustrating. According to who? Nothing like “Sources say…”, “According to a study published by…”, “According to media reports…”. There is a lot of unknowns about the size of deals through NIL Collectives, so it’d be nice to know where this “possibly as much as $500,000” figure comes from. The most comprehensive media article I’ve seen is linked below and it’s still just based on a bunch of conjecture and “hearings” from anonymous coaches. But the consensus is the average for a P5 starter is $150,000, while a starting 5 is $1 million. www.on3.com/transfer-portal/news/college-coaches-weigh-in-on-navigating-the-transfer-portal-and-nil/I’d love to see the actual values. I wonder how much the anonymous coaches throwing these figures out there is so they can then point to their admin and boosters “look what it takes” with the quoted dollar figures. But in actuality no one really knows. Seems like there is an opportunity for players to post their NIL Collective Salaries on a Glassdoor-like app that would at least give the players some ability to know their value.

Tony gets all of his info from Greg. He’s his mouthpiece.
