Baby Buddha is no longer on the roster. (did we know that for sure?) That was never confirmed, no. So Brock's gone, Baby Buddha's gone, and Beck may actually be playing the wing instead of the post? In a week, we went from Tom Cotter being our 7th big to possibly being our 4th (though I would still bet that Beck or even Palombizio could shift to the 4 in a pinch). Not good. If Brock stays at Oakland for his studies, maybe we can talk him in to taking a scholarship just to play if someone gets injured.

With the roster update, most of these departures are freeing up more time for our junior class. At the end of the season I was sure one or two of them would leave due to the depth chart, but now as we get ready to start the new school year there are major openings for all three to make an impact. I am very excited by that because they all have great potential and just need time. Each of them had some moments last season (including XHM coming up big in the Clemson game and Jaevin showing us all something in the Richmond game) and they are going to be some great guys to have around in 18-19 when this year's big senior class graduates. Really glad they are all here and looking like a chance to be contributors this year.
Also these roster updates confirm there is room to have Karmari Newman sit out as a transfer on scholarship.

Just to update the scholarship count, we are now officially at 12: Nick, Jalen, Martez, Kendrick, Brad, Jaevin, XHM, Brailen, Palombizio (I just typed "Chris" originally and even I had no idea who I meant), Stan Scott, James Beck, and Karmari Newman.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we went into the season with just 12. We have had some success with leaving a scholarship open for a mid-season transfer.

There is still 1 really good big man available as a grad transfer, and that is Jack Whitman. He went to William and Mary, was transferring to Kansas for this season. But something happened, he left Kansas, and is available again.
Time is running out for this young man...I wonder if the team has made a call out to him.

I assume Newman sits out this season but Palmer can play right away? Article didn't mention it (and I didn't watch the video).
