I'd love to see Cush and Valentine on the floor together. Both can rebound, play some D, and shoot the three.
I agree Ilija Milutinovic deserves a chance to show what he can do. I just hope Cory Petros develops quickly as a rebounder and defender. You cannot replace a Kito at this level, but maybe there's some Will Hudson in Petros?
Is Laval Lucas-Perry a starter for one season, or do we see him being a microwave scorer off the bench?

I happen to know Kyle Sikkora fairly well because I am his resident assistant. He is one of the nicest dudes you will ever meet and has a good attitude about him. I asked him if he is excited to get some playing time next year and the dudes face lit up. He wants to play, I think he is just a little shy, and "kito" like with his emotions. You also have to factor in for Kyle the fact that the guy has to get homesick, I mean the dudes parents and family are back in Florida. Being away from home and not being able to play due to redshirting can be enough to make anyone seem kind of distant emotionally.
I don't want to seem at all judgemental because that is not who I am, but I do get a sense of entitlement from Petros that is kind of off putting. He definitely is cocky, but as long as he backs it up on the court and works his butt of, who cares?

Good insights Kingsley! Hopefully he Kito-like in more than emotions! We'll even take 1/2 Kito like on the court.

It would seem to make sense that one of our guards is probably going to leave. The obvious candidate for that would be Ledrick due to a lack of playing time. He seems to essentially be made irrelevant, particularly if PLP and Doug Anderson end up coming here. PLP could be a potential replacement for Reggie and play a sort of rotation with Bass. Anderson could fit in at a forward position and have Ilija (scary, I know) or, if things work out, Petros at center. That would mean the starting lineup for next year could be Reggie at point, Bader at 2 guard, Valentine at 3 guard, Anderson/Cush at forward, Petros at center. I haven't seen from Bass, the potential for a starting position so I'm hoping PLP ends up coming here so he could be a potential starter 2 years from now. That would mean the starting lineups two years from now would be PLP at point and the rest would be the same. I like the longevity of this team. Oakland has the building blocks to be good for a long time.

For a freshman last year he has great field vision. He made some passes last year that just wowed me. He can be the next Jones type point guard after reggie leaves.

I do agree in the sense that he is a true point guard but if PLP comes to Oakland playing a Reggie style of basketball, it is hard for me to believe that he will go with 5"8' Bass over 5"10' PLP. And he definitely will not be thinking about moving Bader to the bench. It seems to me that he's much more likely to keep Bass on the bench to bring him in for a boost of speed later in the game.

I'm pretty confident that Bass won't be a Grizzly next year.

The only way i see Bass leaving would be if we sign PLP. Im really not that high on Bass just because I like athletic types that can break down an defense. By no means do I think he is bad what-so-ever.

By no means do I think he is bad what-so-ever. I agree. If PLP comes, which is still a huge if, then you basically have two guys who are just a year apart fighting for the starting PG position post-Reggie Hamilton. On one hand, Bass could stick around and fight hard for that role in the preseason and perhaps prevail. He could also lose that role by like Oakland, his teammates, and the coaches enough to be comfortable as a sixth man off the bench. On the other hand, he could also see the writing on the wall (like Matt Samuels saw with JJ perhaps) and opt to transfer somewhere where he would have a better shot at displaying his abilities more often. If PLP comes and we have these two young guys fighting for PG duties, I'd be really happy to see them both stay. PLP seems to be the higher-rated recruit, but Bass gave Oakland some good minutes this year and showed flashes of his ability (like Leobrn I was really enthused by some of the passes) where I'd be just as excited to see him get a true shot here as well. Probably not best for this thread, but slightly related: did anyone else see that UD's highly-touted freshman point guard from Dayton, Juwan Staten, is transferring out along with another good player? I try to keep tabs on Dayton because of the Gregory connection, and this is a really bizarre move because Staten was a sort of hometown hero there (not to mention REALLY good). I read a few months back on a message board (so taking it with a grain of salt) that Staten's dad was constantly badgering Gregory about his son's role and all that. Maybe it just got too much for either party.
