Saw Kampe today on campus. Asked him about schedule. Said it would be a while. Lots of problems. Said Kentucky and Michigan dropped us. Kentucky will play us next year and Michigan doesn't want to play us anymore. Told me he is having a very hard time getting games

Told me he is having a very hard time getting games I knew about the UofM situation for this coming season (though I didn't know they wanted to drop us indefinitely) but I can't say that I'm upset to see UK off the schedule especially with the lineup they have this season and the slate of big name opponents we already have. I guess it's safe to say that it may still be another month before the schedule comes out.

not surprising about michigan....it seems within their whole program soon as a smaller school gains a foot on them they drop them from their schedule. Safe to say they don't wanna play appalachian state in football anymore. That's disappointing to hear though was looking forward to the instate rivalry. Glad to see kentucky is off the schedule, don't wanna play what might be the ncaa all-star team.

This is the unfortunate curse of having your talent too far ahead of your public reputation. OU scares the insiders but to the casual fan it's still the school from northern California. Kind of like the up and coming boxer who is blowing away "better" opponents but isn't well enough known to help sell tickets. A sign of progress!

The dumb thing about Michigan is that playing at the Palace was as much a home game for them as it was Oakland. I think it is ridiculous that schools don't honor their contracts. If they refuse to play us and we play to our potential, I say that puts us as the second best program in the state.
When the season arrives, I hope the columnists print this everywhere so basketball fans learn how cowardly a move this is.

I agree, I have always said to those schools who think we were not number 3 in the state that, hey if you think your better play us and find out. Its now obvious that Michigan is worried about their number 2 spot in the state...like it was said, its a sign of progress that we lost Michigan and are having a hard time scheduling games...no team wants to be what Oregon is to OU.
