To be put in the category of meaningless but (mildly) amusing diversions to kill time while we wait for the basketball season to start: Sagarin's all-time rankings of 330 Division I programs just came out. assets.espn.go.com/photo/2009/1004/cbe1.pdfTeams with only a few years in D-I don't have much of a chance, and Oakland's ranking of 272 seems about right in the overall scheme of things. The fact that South Dakota State checks in at 226 is a little mystifying. At least Oral Roberts gets credit for its older tradition (they made the Elite 8 back in 1974) with a ranking of 118.

Which makes why they are 226 very mystifying indeed as you say. I would expect NDSU to be in that spot before the Jacks seeing as they have had some very nice wins stemming from their DI transition years.
