Another preseason Summit League preview came out yesterday, with Oakland picked first, followed by SDSU, IUPUI, ORU, and SUU to round out the top five:

There is a lot of similarity among most of the previews this year, and it makes me wonder about a few things:
* Does it make anyone else a little uneasy that pretty much everyone is picking OU to run away with the conference? I agree that we have the most talent on paper (by a good margin), but there are still a few question marks. I like the attention, but I think many of us also remember how preseason predictions turned out during the Mike Helms era....
* Does anyone understand why so many previews are picking SDSU so high? The Blue Ribbon preview (which I just got in the mail yesterday - finally) also has the Jackrabbits picked second in the league. I think they will be solid this year, much higher than last year's 7th place finish, but this is a team that has yet to win a single conference game on the road.
* Is everyone underestimating ORU? If they can get some good point guard play now that Jarvis has waddled off the scene, they could win the league this year. I will be shocked if they don't finish in the top 2 or 3 (Blue Ribbon has them picked 5th). Ford and Morrison alone - not to mention Sutton's coaching - are good reason not to pick against the Golden Eagles.
* Just how bad will Centenary be? What do we think the over-under on their win total this year should be? Could they go winless? Scoreless? Our loss last year in Shreveport was one of the most painful I can remember, so I hope we bury them by 50 both times we play them.
