Searching For Billy Edelin just posted their non-BCS conference preview. Oakland gets a couple of mentions. - Most underrated team - Notable non-conference matchups (vs. MSU) - Key storyline: The Oakland Grizzlies. They have non-conference games against Wisconsin, Michigan State, Kansas, Syracuse and Memphis. Wins over just two of those teams could really propel them onto the national stage. This could be your surprise Sweet 16 squad. Yet another place with high preseason expectations of OU.

Nice find! I also like the statement that "Oakland could play deeper into March than all the aforementioned schools. It's just a hunch we have." (The aforementioned schools include top mid-majors Butler, Siena, Dayton, Tulsa, Gonzaga, Memphis, and Xavier.)
I don't want to set expectations too high, but this should definitely be a memorable year.

I hate to get my expectations up because I always get disappointed, but if there's a season to get really excited for, it's this one.
With a LEGIT big in Benson, OU will be able to compete with ANY team in the country. Typically, successful non-BCS schools are laden with senior guards and forwards and rarely do they have a real center.
My only worry is that Benson gets in foul trouble early in games against the BCS teams, especially on the road.

I think the word "health" is the biggest word on my mind, with regards to this year.
It is so hard to stay grounded when there is this much expectation.

He is what makes this offense go and heaven forbid if he goes down that could be a pretty sizable blow to this team.

I believe the phrase "straw that stirs the drink" applies to J Squared.

The Tulsa World has a nice write-up on you guys in their pre-season review of the conference, including a pic of Coach Kampe: Oakland bringing back lots of talent Later in the article Mike Brown also talks about Centenary - sounds like they're going to be at a D-III level already. They could be facing a bloodbath every night for the next two seasons . . .
