The teams you'd expect to win in IUPUI, NDSU, and ORU all won their first conference games tonight. Newcomer (juco transfer) Michael Craion had 21 and 11 for ORU in 37 minutes and also got to the line quite a bit, and oddly enough Kevin Ford only played 14 minutes. Morrison had a solid 15/8 but poor shooting night.
The best Summit performance came from Davis Baker of SUU in a losing effort. He went 12-19 from the field, 10-12 at the stripe for a total of 34 points along with 9 rebounds. Unfortunately, his team lost to Centenary though.
Seeing as the top teams all won games (especially IUPUI who got a very convincing win over a solid SDSU squad), it's even more important that OU gets a solid victory against IPFW this Saturday. It'll help to have a lot of OU fans there!

Look at little Centenary playing tough and taking out Southern Utah. Looks like the Gents are running alot this year too. They are averaging 8 more possessions per 40 than the second place team in the summit (IPFW @ 70). Good for 10th in the nation! Should make for a more exciting game later in the year. Good for them.

They don't have alot of talent, nor do they have quality bigs from what I remember, so run & gun is prolly all they can do to compete. They're a bad team overall. We can't overlook anybody though
