Watterworth Named The Summit League Player of the Week The freshman set two career-highs in the near upset

ELMHURST, Ill. - After registering a double-double in a near upset of Big Ten foe Purdue last week, freshman Bethany Watterworth has been named The Summit League Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday.
The Lake Orion, Mich. native tallied 15 points, along with career-highs of 12 rebounds and six steals. She also added three assists and a block for the Golden Grizzlies. It was Watterworth's second career double-double and she has scored in double figures in seven of eight games this season.
For the year, Watterworth averages a team-best 14.6 ppg, fourth-best in the league, and 7.1 rpg. The forward/center is shooting 46 percent from the field and 74 percent from the line.
The Golden Grizzlies will next take on Atlantic 10 opponent Saint Louis on Thursday, Dec. 17 at the Athletics Center O'Rena. The game is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. tip.
