I can't wait for some tigers baseball. I got early entry passes and am going to Tigersfest this Saturday. That's cool. But since "My Tiger" Curtis got traded to the Stankees I will admit it's going to be a bit difficult for me to get into the Tigers this spring. I will go to a couple of games though since I do like going down to Comerica.

Baseball's definitely my favorite sport. I've had season tix for three years now and I love going down there.
I thought I understood trading Granderson was a money-move, but then they spent a ton on Valverde...
Seems like they don't have a vision for what they want to do.

Yeah, I agree with Pat Caputo about how contradictory this year's off-season decision making has seemed.

The Granderson deal wasnt ALL about money, it was very much for the future. While Granderson is by no means old, we get a younger version of Grandy for less money, plus another player. With the money we saved we now could get a real, shut down closer.
I totally understand the love for Granderson though.
I can't wait to see Scherzer pitch this year.

The Tigers and Baseball is my first love when it comes to sports.
However, if you look at DD past trades, for the most part they have been great. He trades players, and they don't tear it up for their new teams, or don't even make the MLB roster. I believe trading Grandy, and Jackson, not popular will be great down the road. I believe that DD thinks Grandy has hit is potential, and may never be the player that we all thought he will become as a hitter.
I for one think getting rid of Jackson, basically for Scherzer is a fantastic move. Scherzer has some amazing stuff and can/will be a front of the line starter one day. Imagine Verlander, Porcello, and Scherzer and your top 3, HOLY COW!
Polanco as a defender in my book is overrated. Yes he has a sure glove, but he has NO range at all. And the last week of the season he played HORRIBLE. Made errors, striking out 2 against the twins. Anyone remember the double play ball he didn't get too? That would of won the game for us right there, instead we lose it a couple batters later. I'm real excited to see Scott Sizemore play, the kid can flat out hit, he has better range than Big head, but his glove is not nearly as good as his.
Either way this year is going to be an interesting season to say the least.
