Paul Kampe says his source says PLP will be choosing Penn tomorrow. 60% of the time, sources are wrong all of the time.

For anyone seeking a reference point: First time I can remember Paul Kampe pulling the "a source said..." I like it when reporters let a kid announce his decision. It's a big choice. Let him have his moment.

Bryan Everson of MichPreps with more on PLP's signing day announcement: michiganpreps.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1211608Can't blame the kid. The Wharton school is top notch. I love that he is thinking about his academics and wish him the best. I read that Penn has something like 7 or 8 recruits coming in for next season. Also, living in Philadelphia for four years on THAT campus is tough to beat. Absolutely beautiful area, and getting to play home games at The Palestra. Good for him. Maybe Oakland can schedule a game against Penn so PLP and LLP can play each other one time while they're both playing.

Full agreement on PLP. Disappointing for us, great for him. He had 2 really good options, and he chose the one that will open the most non-basketball doors the rest of his life. I love Oakland, but it's hard to deny the massive advantages a degree from Penn will give him down the road.
I also liked the positive comments about Kampe and Oakland. I will definitely root for PLP over the next few years. Interesting idea by B&G about scheduling Penn next season, too.

Somewhat interesting development with Penn hoops. The team just got a commitment from a 6-foot point guard who is rated 85 from ESPNU. He will be with the team in fall 2012. Here was what Dave Telep of ESPN had to say: Meanwhile, the Penn Quakers were busy securing Zach Rosen's successor. Jamal Lewis (Washington, D.C./Sidwell Friends) gave the Quakers a pledge. The young man has the potential to be the leader of the program and gives the Quakers a player at a pivotal position who is at least one league better than the Ivy. Translation: expect Lewis to do just fine under Jerome Allen. PLP is about the same size as Lewis, and he seemed to be billed almost exactly the same (program leader at point guard who has talent for a bigger league). Maybe they're just stockpiling PGs. But it adds another dynamic to watching PLP's career progress.
