A couple of interesting articles on mid-major recruiting.
Bill Self on how mid-majors are better talent evaluators:

Bottom line is that Kampe and the staff have done a really good job in recent years of evaluating and developing talent, with Kito being the biggest feather in the staff's cap. We've also been getting good character guys who don't have major academic problems or much negative personal baggage. (I guess Tim Williams might be an exception to this, but at least things have subsequently gone well for him at South Alabama.)
