Congratulations to the mens team for defeating # 14 Drake today. Hopefully the 2nd year coach can continue on where Parsons left off. I would like to see consistent winning against good opponents with his recruits before I make my mind up. Good PROGRAMS do not simply state "we have a young team" as rationale for not performing consistently. Nice win after a bad loss to start the season.
On the other hand, the womens team has plummeted from regional power to practically being irrelevant in the Summit League, according to the poll for what that's worth. They have had tremendous teams under this coach but have really struggled in recent years. I am not sure if something happened but he does not appear to be getting the talent we once had. In my opinion, soccer and swimming have always been our bread and butter. I do not think our goal in these sports should be to do well in the Summit League, rather it should be to contend for national prominence. I am glad our basketball teams are picking up the slack!

I agree with you Pioneer. I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of soccer but it does seem like our women's team has fallen on hard times the last few years. At least the men have been able to stay consistent for the most part but the ladies have really struggled and I really don't know why. The talent doesn't seem that bad but of course I am certainly not an evaluator of soccer talent.

Ya i definitely agree that the success of the men's team has been great, especially when considered next to the recent mediocrity of the women's team.
Without a doubt Soccer is continuing to grow and has become OU's "second sport," something which every school needs (with basketball being number one of course).
Sorry swimming fans, but NO athletic program can be considered relevant based on the strength of its swimming program, regardless of how strong that program is (as ours has been).
