Congrats on your 600 wins Coach. Amazing accomplishment. Indeed. OU Twitter says he is the 15th active coach to reach 600. Awesome accomplishment. Congrats!

Would anyone be surprised if Kampe hangs it up after this season? Considering his health scare this past summer, this team not meeting expectations, the uncertainty over a new AD, and basically starting over next year with younger players, maybe he's had it? Add to that he just met the 600 win milestone. He probably won't have a team competing for conference champ for a few years. I guess I wouldn't be surprised.

For what it's worth, grizzdad, I would be very surprised if Coach Kampe chooses retirement after such a disappointing season. If this analogy makes any sense — when I play golf and fight through a frustrating round, I can't wait to get back on the course the next day. I have no inside information. I'm just guessing Coach Kampe may be looking forward to rebuilding the program with his own recruits such as Braden Norris, Traveon Maddox Jr. and Babatunde Sowunmi. Unless I'm wrong, Kamari Newman is the only transfer on the projected roster. A first-game exit from the Horizon League tournament next weekend might create a different story line, but I don't see him walking away on a low note.

I'm hoping Kampe can pull another transfer or two out of his sleeve for next year. I will give him credit for that, he's great at getting transfers and recruits.

I think you and I are the only ones of the fire Kampe train so don't get your hopes up.

I'm not a Kampe slappy at all but if you take whoever you think are the best coaches in the country (Izzo, Kryzewski, Williams, etc) and have them experience Kampes year, I'd imagine a similar result. This year was a rough one. We did win 19 games, but it was a rough year.

Team should've been way better before Bugs and Melon got hurt. No offense to Jaevin Cumberland and Brad Bretching but it's not like they are elite players, still very young.
